Settle plates for air monitoring
The 90 mm settle plates contain 30 mL of agar to compensate for desiccation after active sampling of 1000 litres of air and are suitable for prolonged incubation to favour the detection of microorganisms.
Settle plates are either exposed to air for a certain time or used with a microbial air sampler to physically draw a pre-determined volume of air, for detecting microbial airborne contaminations. They can also be used for personnel applications (i.e. gloves).
Settle plates are available both as gamma-irradiated, triple-enveloped for clean rooms and non-irradiated, single-enveloped for less critical environments and are conform to international standards such as EU cGMP, FDA Aseptic Guidance and USP 34.
The 30 mL settle plates are available as Tryptic Soy agar (TSA), w/ or w/o Penase or Lactamator in various concentrations and Sabouraud Dextrose agar (SDA). They are supplemented with neutralizers such as lecithin (L), tween 80 (T), histidine (H) and sodium thiosulfate (Th) for inactivating a wide range of disinfectants. Paperless and secure identification of individual plates is granted by the 2D Data matrix barcode on each plate.

Rapid Y/M Agar
Selective medium for enumeration of yeasts and molds
Rapid Y/M Agar is a medium used for selective isolation and enumeration of yeasts and molds from food, animal feeding stuff, water and environmental samples. The medium formulation allows accelerating detection compared to other media commonly recommended for the cultivation of yeasts and molds . Unlike DRBC and DG18, which are used for high (ISO 21527-1) and low (ISO 21527-2) water activity products, respectively, Y/M Agar can be used with samples regardless of their water activity.

RPMI Agar
for antifungal susceptibility testing
RPMI Agar (RPMI1640, MOPS, L-glutamine, 2% Glucose) is intended for the AFST (antifungal susceptibility testing) and is recommended for usage with Antifungal MTS™ (MIC Test Strip).
Pick 4-5 colonies from 24-hours old cultures and suspend them in saline solution or sterile water in order to obtain a 0.5 McFarland cell density.
Introduce a sterile swab into the suspension and inoculate the RPMI Agar plate.
Allow the plate to dry, and position the antifungal strip onto the agar surface with the maximum concentration nearest the periphery of the plate.
Incubate at 35 °C for 24-48 hours.
Read the M.I.C. value where the edge of the inhibition ellipse intersects the strip (the intersection between two scale segments should be round up to the higher value).

Quanti-CultiControl
for growth promotion testing of culture media
The Quanti-CultiControl are lyophilized, quantitative microorganism preparations to be used in industrial laboratories for Quality Control purposes. Processed as directed, these preparations provide a challenge of
<100 CFU per 0.1 mL, which is a concentration usually suitable for several pharmaceutical applications, including growth promotion testing of culture media to be employed in sterility testing. These microorganism preparations are derived from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC®).
The Quanti-CultiControl are suitable for the Growth Promotion Test recommended by the international Pharmacopoeia, without the need for intermediate dilution steps, since each rehydrated suspension generates less than 100 UFC for 0.1 mL inoculum. Each suspension (1 mL) allows 10 inocula.

Ready-to-use Agar Dilution panels
With an increase in the numbers of bacterial isolates resistant to first-line antibiotics, there has been a revival in the use of older drugs including fosfomycin. Although several commercial tests based on different techniques have been developed, Agar Dilution (AD) is considered the best method for performing Fosfomycin susceptibility testing so far.
The AD Fosfomycin 0.25-256 is the first and only (international patent pending) ready-to-use commercially available kit for performing the agar dilution antimicrobial susceptibility testing, in compliance with the CLSI and EUCAST standards, with 4 months shelf life at present.
The AD Fosfomycin panel comprises 12 wells, containing the antibiotic incorporated into an agar medium in different concentrations, i.e. 11 two-fold dilutions (0.25-256 μg/mL).

Chromatic CRE
for detecting Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae.
Chromatic CRE contains a mixture of carbapenems for screening a wide variety of carbapenem-resistance mechanisms and provides presumptive identification of E. coli and the Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Serratia and Citrobacter (KESC) group directly from clinical specimens.
Carbapenems, successfully used to treat multi-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections, including ESBL positive strains, are not efficacious against the Enterobacteriaceae resistant to carbapenems, thus generating a significant risk of hospital-acquired infections.

Boditech Interleukin-6
Interleukin-6
The earliest alarming for sepsis
Every minute and every second, the medical team had always encountered challenges. The clinicians kept thinking about how to detect a baby’s condition earlier and how to reduce antibiotics administration. Interleukin-6 acts as a pro-inflammation cytokine and a key mediator of inflammation. During the acute phase of infection, B and T lymphocytes are stimulated to produce the Interleukin-6 cytokine, which in turn induces hepatocyte production of acute-phase reactants such as CRP.
With these characteristics, the Interleukin-6 could help to detect EOS(Early Onset Sepsis) earlier and can work as a complementary function with existing tests such as CRP(C-Reactive Protein) and PCT(Procalcitonin). Boditech Med has launched the AFIAS Interleukin-6 in September 2020, and it has been landed successfully. It is expected that the AFIAS Interleukin-6 test aid to detect inflammation in the early stage and will contribute to improving the newborn’s health.
Interleukin-6, an essential test for NICU and children’s hospital
1. Early Onset Sepsis occurs within 72 hours of life
Neonatal sepsis is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in neonates, especially in those born preterm. The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) estimated 1.3 million annual incident cases of neonatal sepsis and other infections 2,874 sepsis cases per 100,000 live births and a mortality of 17.6%.
2. Exposure to inappropriate and/or excessive antibiotic use
Antibiotics are the most commonly prescribed class of medications in the NICU. The probability of EOS combined with the clinical instability characteristic of premature newborns leads to high rates of empirical antibiotic treatment. previous studies demonstrate that neonatal clinicians administer antibiotics from birth in 79% to 98%.
3. C-tip is the ideal method for infants’ or children’s sample collection
An infant’s blood collection cannot exceed 1% of body blood, usually premature baby is under 2 kg therefore, 1 ml for once is maximum. The research shows, that 51.7% of hospitals in Korea collect 0.5 ml, and 24.1% collect 1 ml from an infant’s heel for a blood culture test. It is already in the dangerous range for infants.
NICU clinicians need the method to improve diagnostic capabilities, which can provide reliable results, early and rapid, simple and safely in the patient’s bedside or in the ICU.
